Due to generous donations Alexander von Humboldt was finally able to fulfil a lifelong dream in 1802. He travelled to South America and climbed the Chimborazo which then was believed to be the highest mountain in the world. The research results from this endeavour were ground breaking and have moved mountains in many ways.
Even today students from Humboldt-Universität - inspired by their role model Alexander von Humboldt - embark on scientific expeditions - be it to Alaska or into the vast expanses of microsociology.
For the 250th birthday of Alexander von Humboldt we want to give presents to Humboldt’s heirs - our students - in form of Humboldt-Scholarships.
Your contribution – be it large or small – moves mountains and makes the difference for our students. Give freedom – with the Humboldt-Scholarship (implemented in the Germany Scholarship Programme at HU). Your Scholarship supports students from all nationalities early in their scientific career, provides extra time for learning and enables honorary work besides their studies.
One scholarship costs 1.800 Euro per year and the German Government will double your contribution according to the “Matching Funds” principle.
A scholarship moves mountains. Give a Humboldt-Scholarship to the students of HU!
